About us
From Naples to North Raleigh
Carlo Nicolazza, originally from Naples, opened Bella Italia in 2001 after many years cooking on the Italian coast. The kitchen is known for Frutti di Mare, with jumbo shrimp and plump scallops in a creamy Alfredo sauce, along with Chicken Bella Italia, Veal Saltimbocca, pizzas and hand-made cannoli.
Under new ownership since February 2023, we are working to make Bella Italia the most authentic pizzeria and Italian restaurant in Raleigh.

New York Style Thin-Crust Pizza, 14 or 18 Inches
Our Napoletana is a thin-crust pie with pizza sauce and mozzarella, the one longtime guests call the closest thing in Raleigh to a New York slice. Build your own from more than 30 toppings, or pick one of 12 specialty pizzas such as Margherita, Meat Lovers, Toscana and Portofino.
We also bake 18-inch pan pizzas, including Grandma's, square Sicilian and a double-crust stuffed pizza, plus calzones, strombolis and pizza rolls. At lunch, two slices are $7.50, Monday to Saturday.

What kind of pizza does Bella Italia serve?
Thin-crust Napoletana pizza in 14-inch and 18-inch sizes, 12 specialty pizzas, and 18-inch pan pizzas including Grandma's, Sicilian and a double-crust stuffed pizza. We also make calzones, strombolis and pizza rolls.
Can I get pizza by the slice?
Yes. Our lunch specials include two slices of pizza for $7.50, or a slice with a side salad for $8.50, Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM.
